Catherine Tallerico, a member of the firm’s Government Practice Group, specializes in representing governmental entities, public officials and government employees. She has more than twenty years of experience in providing counsel and advice on employment related matters. She assists private and public employers with personnel matters, internal investigations, reductions in force and compliance with state and federal laws such as anti-discrimination laws and wage and hour laws. She defends employers against charges filed with administrative agencies and in litigation. In addition, Ms. Tallerico’s practice includes providing advice to school districts on special education, civil rights and student discipline.

Ms. Tallerico has substantial trial and appellate experience in civil litigation and handles a wide variety of lawsuits involving the Colorado governmental immunity act, open records/meeting, civil rights, discrimination claims, construction matters and insurance coverage disputes. She also drafts and negotiates construction contracts and assists with the administration of the same.

Ms. Tallerico is the immediate past President of the Colorado Council of School Board Attorneys. She has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and remains a member. She is a member of the Colorado and Boulder County Bar Associations.

Ms. Tallerico enjoys educating clients on the law and frequently speaks on employment and education issues. She has received an AV rating, the highest rating given by the premier national lawyers’ referral agency.
